Community Changes

Lately traffic via TF2 has been quite low and bringing in less donations. That said there is no longer a need for our second server hosting our Arena servers. Once this server is shut down we'll have 4 32 man TF2 server to work with. Less if we want to branch our into other games.

Speaking of other games, any new game the community wishes to be involved in we will be setting up a devision leader. That person we be responsible for the server(s)/News/Forums/Contests in that particular devision and I will try to allocate the neccesary resources for that game. For example people have mentioned a Gun Game Server in CSS. If somebody is willing to maintain the server/game i have no issues with this.

Reducing the amount of servers we have should give us more funds and time to run some decent contests. As fall/winter comes back around people will have less yard work to do and more time for gaming (like myself). :-)

I'm also debating on Paying a few people to write news for the community. Keeping the front page up to date is crucial to getting more hits. If anyone is interested in this please PM me. It wouldn't be much but it would be some incentive.

Batman: Arkham Asylum Sequel Coming Fall 2011

E-mail Print PDF

Batman: Arkham City, follow-up to the bone-crushing, dark Batman: Arkham Asylum, is in development for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 for a Fall 2011 release, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment said this morning.

The sequel, in development by Rocksteady Studios, has players taking Batman into Arkham City, the new maximum security home for all of Gotham City's criminals. This new prison is described as a heavily fortified walled-prison in the heart of Gotham City.

The game will include story that "draws together a new all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight," according to the press release.

Check out the first teaser trailer here.

Update: Whoops, never mind, that trailer was the one they premiered at the VGAs. Sorry about that.

Update Part Two: As commenters have pointed out, the new Game Informer indicates Catwoman will be playing a part in the game and is that Two Face in the background too?

Looks pretty BA to me and you can't beat free right?

You can find the game - here, which unlocks on the 19th.

Changes ..

The community unfortunately cannot afford to keep our current Chicago 3 server. This server hosts stats, Sourcebans, MotD, and our fast redirect service for map downloads (while in-game). That said, I will be migrating Sourcebans to the main website and setting up a new instance of Hlstats on iToasts server. Because our stats database is quite large it will be easier for us to simply start from scratch.

Natal Pricing Rumors Spread

E-mail Print PDF
As we approach the Electronic Entertainment Expo there are more and more rumors regarding upcoming game and hardware announcements. Today Edge has cited a "trusted source" with information regarding the price and launch date of Project Natal, Microsoft's new motion sensing controller.

The article states that Natal will be bundled with the Xbox 360 Arcade unit and will cost $299. This would be available to consumers the world over on October 26. The price for Natal on its own would be $149, more than the announced price for Sony's Move.

Microsoft, of course isn't commenting on this information, and it should all be taken with a grain of salt at this point. We hope to have plenty of solid info about Project Natal, including its official name in a few weeks when E3 kicks off in Los Angeles.
